The Deer on the Hill

In solitude and silence
In the evening along the marsh
I walk
Listening for birds
Feeling the gray mists roll in
Obscuring my view
Yet wrapping me in silence
Enhancing the solitude
Lost in my own thoughts
A sweet peace envelopes me and then—I see them
The deer on the hill
And we are together
Alone in this benediction.

    1. Thanks Sandy. The photo inspired the poem. The prompt pointed me in the right direction.
