This Winter White
When the winter dark and dreary
makes me feel, oh so weary,
and my eyes get oh so blurry,
from looking at all this white!
I start to think of sunny things,
pretty flowers, birds with wings,
hiking on a sunny day
through grasses green
and fresh mown hay,
it lifts my spirits and my mind
and mentally I leave behind
this cold white cage that quells my song,
this winter white and deep and long.

It is a cage for us the way the Styrofoam cooler is for Budweiser! Oh, to be liberated!
ReplyDeleteThanks for making me laugh out loud Sandy! I needed that!
ReplyDeleteBack to say I saw some folks on a trail in a forest in Naugatuck the other day. They were not wearing snow shoes. So I think hiking is not so remote a possibility as we might think!
ReplyDeleteI am glad this does not sound as sad as I had feared. There is always hope
ReplyDeleteSandy, perhaps you and I should try together?
ReplyDeleteArija, do not worry about me. Expressing myself just helps me to feel better! When I feel I have a voice, then I do not feel so trapped or so helpless.
