Skywatch Friday: The Moon is a Pearl

Like the inside of an oyster shell
The dark skies open
Revealing the slippery flesh
Of parting clouds
Revealing the pearl
The glowing orb
Luminescent and full
In her monthly glory
One night and day
Before she slowly dissolves
Into darkness
And forms again.

  1. This is something special. I don't think I have every seen anything like this. It looks like a pearl to me.

My Sky Watch Friday blog is at my Canon Pixels blog. If you have time I would appreciate your having a look at the sky peeking through the oak tree leaves.

  11. Very dramatic shot! As an Art History person, I would call this an "Albert Pinkham Ryder sky" (19th century painter from Boston area).
