Feathered Tulips in a Tree

Mesquite leaves unfurl like ferns
Tender green feathers on tree bones
Goldfinches cling to half-naked twigs
Burnished gold against the gray
Yellow breasts ablaze
Feathered tulips in a tree.

  2. It's as pretty as tulip I've seen, Kathy, the poem and the golffinch.

I see you are still writing your lovely nature, mostly bird, poems. Thank you for looking me up, it's been a long time since we exchanged.
